Executive Summary

Broadcast Management Group (BMG) serves as the turnkey managed services partner for The Schwab Network (formerly TD Ameritrade Network)—the first direct-to-consumer 24/7 OTT channel launched by a financial institution. Since 2017, BMG has led every stage of the network’s growth: from initial consulting and facility design to daily operations, creative services, and ongoing management through the BMG Cloud Control Center™. Today, Schwab Network delivers live, real-time financial programming from Chicago Studios, the Chicago Stock Exchange, the Nasdaq, and the New York Stock Exchange, powered by BMG’s integrated team and nationwide production ecosystem.

Background / Challenge

When TD Ameritrade first partnered with BMG in 2017, it sought to redefine how investors engage with financial content. BMG recommended building a direct-to-consumer OTT channel, establishing what would become the first live, 24/7 financial broadcast network owned and operated by a financial institution.

The challenge was to design, launch, and operate a 24/7 broadcast operation capable of producing live content at network standards, fully aligned with brand, compliance, and technology requirements.

After Charles Schwab’s 2023 acquisition of TD Ameritrade, BMG was again brought in to expand production capabilities, integrate new infrastructure, and rebrand the network under the Schwab identity. This included building a new studio directly on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange.

BMG Engagement by Phase

1. Consulting

BMG began the engagement with a strategic consulting phase to evaluate goals, workflows, and audience strategy.

  • Conducted complete operational and technical assessments.
  • Recommended building a proprietary OTT channel, creating the first corporate direct-to-consumer financial network.
  • Developed a roadmap for daily broadcast operations, talent strategy, and audience engagement.

2. Facility Design and Build

Following the consulting phase, BMG designed and built a broadcast infrastructure that scaled alongside the network’s growth.

  • 2017: Designed and built the original Chicago broadcast facility from the ground up.
  • 2021: Expanded into a larger facility, doubling production capacity to support increased programming.
  • 2024: Built and launched a studio on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange to support real-time market coverage.

Each location was fully integrated into BMG’s Cloud Control Center™, enabling centralized production, monitoring, and disaster recovery across all facilities.

3. Creative Services

BMG has led the creative direction of the network since launch, evolving the brand, programming, and on-air presentation over time.

  • Designed the original network identity, graphics package, and show formats at launch.
  • Led a full rebrand in 2023 following the Charles Schwab acquisition.
  • In 2025, expanded programming formats, refreshed the brand, and scaled on-air talent.

Today, BMG continues to manage and evolve the network’s creative execution across all programming:

  • Designs all network branding, graphic packages, and on-air visual identity.
  • Creates and directs the look, lighting, and layout of each studio set.
  • Produces promos and show opens, unifying design across all programming.
  • Identifies professional on-air talent.
  • Produces special event programming.
  • Designs virtual sets for multiple live daily shows.
  • Trains company’s financial experts as on-air talent.
  • Develops and manages booking teams and guest strategy.

4. Staffing, Daily Operations, and Engineering Support

BMG provides long-term, full-time managed services covering operations, staffing, and engineering.

  • Management, creative, producing, and technical teams staffed and managed entirely by BMG.
  • Live shows are directed, switched, and monitored daily.
  • Centralized engineering oversight for system reliability and equipment lifecycle management.
  • 24/7 support with defined SLAs and redundant network paths for broadcast continuity.
  • BMG has staffed special event programming.

5. Digital Services

In 2023, BMG expanded its role to include management of the Schwab Network’s YouTube channel, extending the network’s reach beyond its core broadcast and OTT distribution.

  • Took over the day-to-day management and publishing of the YouTube channel.
  • Developed a content strategy aligned with live programming and key market moments.
  • Optimized video packaging, titles, thumbnails, and metadata for discoverability.
  • Repurposed live broadcast content into digital-first clips and segments.

Today, BMG continues to manage and grow the network’s digital presence, aligning YouTube distribution with live programming and audience engagement.
